~ Day 5 of Hong Kong ~
~ Lamma Island ~
Today I took the train down to Hong Kong Station then a ferry ride over to Lamma Island. Many of the tourists from mainland China come to this island so there is a cute little touristy village when you first arrive on the island. After walking past several fresh seafood restaurants, a few little temples, and tourist shops, I continued hiking along the Island. I hiked from Yung Shue Wan to Hung Shing Ye to Lo So Shing to Fisherfolk’s Village in Sok Kwu Wan. Along the way, I stopped at a few of the beaches and read for a little while on the rocks. There were some kids playing in the water, and signs telling them not to go past the yellow "shark nets." After I made it to the other end of the island, I had a delicious seafood snack with tea in Sok Kwu Wan, then headed back to Ferry Pier for my ride home to Hong Kong Island.
It was a nice little 16km solo hike and some good site seeing on the way :)
